JTR Farms is a registered Nigerian agribusiness incorporated to develop a fully integrated dairy and beef ranch in Egbejila, along Airport Road, Ilorin, Kwara State. The enterprise is conceived as a commercial-scale demonstration of climate-smart livestock production.

Operating on a one-hectare fenced operations site supported by eight hectares of surrounding forage land, the farm combines intensive dairy management, finishing-stage beef production, value-added processing and circular waste-to-energy systems on a single site.

Manure becomes biogas and fertiliser. Fertiliser produces forage. Forage feeds the herd. The herd produces milk, beef and manure — a fully closed nutrient and energy loop driving efficiency and sustainability.

Intensive Dairy

60 Friesian × Bunaji crossbred cows in covered free-stall barns, milked twice daily through a 6-point swing-over parlour. Zero-grazing cut-and-carry system with on-farm forage, concentrate and silage rations.

Beef Finishing

Weaner bulls (8–12 months, 150–200 kg) acquired from regional pastoralist sources, finished over 6–8 months to 400–450 kg market liveweight. Two cycles of 50 head per year on structured rations.

Value-Added Processing

From Year 2, on-farm pasteurisation and yoghurt production targeting supermarket chains, hospitality customers and institutional buyers in Ilorin, Lagos and Abuja via refrigerated logistics.

Biogas & Organic Fertiliser

A 50 m³ anaerobic biogas digester processes manure from dairy and beef units, producing ~100 m³ of biogas daily for on-farm use and organic fertiliser applied to the forage fields.
